The woman was stopped at a traffic light Saturday afternoon when a man fell to the ground in front of her car, police said. When the woman went to check on him, he pulled out a knife, forced her into her car and threatened to kill her. Police did not name the woman.

"It's not common for someone to lay himself in front of a vehicle," Corpus Christi police Cmdr. David Torres told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. "He should be glad the driver was paying attention and stopped."

The two drove around for a couple hours, until the woman surprised him by spraying him with a bottle of perfume online that had been sitting in the car's center console, police said. The spritz from the bottle of Elizabeth Arden Red Door sent the man running, but not before he stole $80 and a cell phone.
